Liz Eley
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and working in the alternative health field for the last 17 years and I have a sincere interest in helping people to benefit from an alternative approach to health care.
I came across Hatha Yoga quite by accident when attempting to attend a dance class at my local YMCA, being caught in traffic meant that I missed the class so instead went to the next available class - a Sivananda Yoga class! What a revelation this class turned out to be for me, while my dancing had always been an outward performance, I realised that yoga was about working internally. After a few lessons I started to practice at home and told my teacher that while I was practicing there was no 'mind' involved - that was when I began to realise the mysteries that yoga can unfold in us.
My own yoga practice has been a route to better health, improved strength and flexibility and a calmer more peaceful existence, I am committed to sharing this experience with others, whatever your age or level of fitness I believe that yoga is accessible to all.
In 1990 I gained an ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Holistic Massage and have practiced in various surroundings including clinics, private homes and festivals.
I have completed the Yoga Teacher Training Programme with The Life Centre, which is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance, and I am fortunate enough to have worked with an array of wonderful teachers over the years, to whom I offer my heartfelt thanks.
